New head for Power Climber

Power Climber, the suspended platform manufacturer has appointed Eric Thormann as managing director at the same time Germain Vanhulle has announced that the will retire later in 2008.

Until recently he was vice president after sales services for Trane Europe the heating, ventilation and air conditioning company previously part of American Standard but purchased last month by Ingersoll Rand. Prior to Trane he held general management and sales and marketing roles with Carrier, Volvo and Union Carbide.

Scott Farrell, president & chief executive of Safeworks said: “Eric’s extensive business development experience across reseller and end-user groups strengthens Power Climber’s continued market leadership in powered access solutions and our growing wind business. His record of growth through focused programmes that drive benefit to customers built on robust business processes fits SafeWorks’ strategic intent. Eric’s talent and intellect complements a solid Power Climber team.”

At the same time Germain Vanhulle, vice president and general manager of Power Climber International for over 24 years, announced his intention to retire sometime during the first half of 2008.

“I want to personally thank Germain for the tremendous job he has done in founding our international presence and in building, leading, and growing this important business over the years,” said Farrell.
