JCB has announced a 60ft articulated boom lift, which will initially be available with all electric or hybrid powertrains - the A60E and A60EH.
The two new models feature the same dual riser, two section boom and articulating jib layout as JCB’s existing 45ft models but offer a 20.2 metre maximum working height and up to 11.9 metres of outreach with the 300kg unrestricted platform capacity with an up & over clearance height of just under eight metres. Maximum capacity is 454kg. The platform has three entry points with gates and a drop-bar entry.
Four wheel drive with direct electric wheel motor drive with IP67 levels of waterproofing provides traction as good, if not better than, diesel equivalents while non-marking tyres, secondary guarding a seven inch base display screen, power to the platform and JCB LiveLink are all standard as is two wheel steering.
Power comes from eight, six volt AGM batteries, with a 400Ah capacity. The A60EH, is essentially a 60E plus a Kohler KDW1003 diesel with a 40 litre fuel tank. The A60E and A60EH also have regenerative technology to recover electrical energy during braking and put it back into the battery pack.
The overall stowed length is 8.8 metres, while the overall width is a tad on the wide side at 2.5 metres, and overall stowed height is 2.3 metres. The new 60ft boom lifts share up to 52 percent of their components with the existing A45EH
