Eastman forms partnership with Fontexx

Chinese aerial lift company Eastman Heavy Machinery has appointed Netherlands trading company Fontexx as its exclusive sales representative for Europe, excluding France and Turkey.

Fontexx Cranes & Access is based in Bergeijk, on the south side of Eindhoven and is managed by Harold Amendt who has also run HLF access solutions and Hoogwerkstunter from the same location. In addition to sales and dealer management, Fontexx will provide the full product support role for Eastman products, which includes mast type self propelled lifts and a full line of slab electric scissor lifts.

Amendt said: “We expect this cooperation to extend our product line and widen our customer base. We made the decision after more than three years of negotiation and multiple product trials with Eastman.”

Eastman Heavy Machinery offers a range of mast type self propelled lifts, and a full line of slab electric was founded in China in 2012 by Michael Zhou, and is based in Kunshan, Jiangsu province.

Zhou began his career in the aerial lift market in 1995 with Grove Manlift, where he was an engineering manager. He then moved to Snorkel/Omniquip in 2000 and JLG 2002 as procurement director Asia, before joining Zoomlion in 2009, leaving after three years to establish Eastman. Zhou has taken a steady step by step approach to building the business, starting it in a business incubator facility, in order to preserve capital and overheads in the early days of his new business.

Eastman's E 12 mast type self propelled lift


This is Amendt’s third venture as a European mast dealer for Chinese manufacturers having previously launched Sinoboom Europe in 2014 and then teamed up with Runshare to form Runshare Europe in 2015.
