ALE acquires ECR Group

Heavy transportation and lifting company ALE has acquired a majority holding in the ECR group of Gladstone, Australia.

The move follows the success of the joint venture ‘ALE ECR Heavylift’ formed in August 2012 - see: ALE and ECR form JV.

ALE said that the acquisition will provide it with a competitive edge and allow further investment in the business, as well as providing a wider and more integrated service from its smaller scale cranes through to its largest crane, as well as its specialist transportation equipment.

Paul Kelly, managing director of ALE said: “We are pleased to be joining forces officially under one name, since 2012 the joint venture between ALE and ECR has been incredibly successful, the businesses complement each other which is why we have decided to make this acquisition."

"The merger will ensure that the success and amalgamation of skills gained through the joint venture will be retained and the incredible breadth of services offered will continue and grow in the future.”

“Benefits that our customers will gain include the strength and knowledge of a global organisation, regional experience and local personnel, investment into equipment and services and a combination of skills from both businesses via a single interface. The acquisition will allow ALE to further invest in the region both in current and new equipment to ensure a complete service is available to our customers.”
