New 80ft LGMG boom

Chinese manufacturer LGMG has launched a new 80ft articulated boom lift with diesel or all electric power packs - the AR24J diesel and lithium battery powered AR24JE. In North America they become the AR80J and AR80JE.

The two platforms employ a two section telescopic riser, a long two section telescopic boom and an articulating jib for maximum working height of 26.6 metres. Maximum outreach is 18 metres with 250kg in the platform, at an up & over clearance height of 6.7 metres. The 2.44 metre by 900mm platform has a maximum platform capacity of 350kg/three people, available at just over 16 metres outreach.

Both models feature rough terrain axles with standard four wheel drive with oscillating axle, four wheel steer and 45 percent gradeability. The AR24JE is powered by high capacity Lithium ion battery pack, and performs equally with the diesel model, which uses a relatively small Kubota power unit. Both models have an overall weight of 17,300kg. The overall width is 2.5 metres, with a stowed height of 2.83 metres and transport length with jib tucked under of 9.07 metres.

Note: For Up & Over height we use the clearance under the main boom. Some manufacturers have started using Up & Over Working Height. you must to add two metres plus the depth of boom, and on some machines the basket attachment mechanism - especially if the basket is pedestal mounted. This is a subject we will come back to.
