US rental company Deep South Crane & Rigging has taken delivery of four Liebherr All Terrain cranes, two 450 tonne LTM 1450-8.1s and two 300 tonne LTM 1300-6.2s.
The eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 can travel complete with its 85 metre main boom, along with outriggers and hoist within 12 tonne axle loads. The single engine, six axle LTM 1300-6.2 has a seven section 78 metre main boom with a luffing jib of up to 70 metres.
President Mitch Landry said: “The Liebherr mobile cranes we own are popular cranes, efficiently satisfying the needs of our customer base. It is nice that these new models have a longer telescopic boom, reducing the need to install a jib and allowing Deep South to work even more efficiently in congested areas.”
Established in 1968, family owned Deep South is based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and operates from a further five locations in the USA, plus an office in Cartagena, Colombia. The company employs around 700 and runs a fleet of over 200 cranes with capacities between two and 2,700 tonnes, as well as specialised rigging and hauling equipment.
