Fatal tower crane fall

A man died yesterday after he fell around 25 metres from the top of a tower crane at a job site on the outskirts of Fort De France in Martinique.

The man, 34, is said to have fallen from a badly installed or maintained walkway near the cab and was declared dead at the scene and is thought to have died on impact. The crane was working on the site of some new apartment blocks on the east side of the town.
