Hiab extends continuous slew

Hiab is adding 360 degree continuous slewing on its 30 to 40 tonne/metre range of loader cranes.

Continuous slewing previously only been available on Hiab cranes over 50 tonne/metres. The change adds the feature to the 33 tonne/metre X-HiPro 358, 36 tonne/metre X-CLX 398, 38 tonne/metre X-HiPro 408 and 39 tonne/metre X-HiPro 418.

Marcel Boxem of Hiab heavy cranes said: "Continuous slewing offers the operator the best possible load access, avoiding unnecessary backtracking, and enables safer operation with no awkward lifts and stopping in risky positions. There has been high demand for this from our customers, which we are now answering by expanding our offering to the lighter end of the heavy range."

The benefits of continuous slew on a loader crane are nicely illustrated in the video below.
