Interlift and FLG to merge

UK rental group A-Plant is merging the Interlift lifting gear business - which it acquired around eight months ago - into its FLG lifting gear division.

The combined business will make FLG Services one of the largest lifting gear and safety equipment providers in the UK, with 24 service centres offering both sales and rental. The merged operation will trade as FLG Services.

A-Plant - the UK part of Ashtead - acquired Interlift late last year from Hewden administrators EY, along with other parts of the Hewden business. See Ashtead acquires Hewden Interlift was founded in 2006 and acquired by Hewden in January 2016. See Hewden acquires Interlift

Jeff Hudson of FLG Services said: "There were direct synergies between Interlift and FLG Services so the integration made perfect sense and by doing this we’ve created an enhanced lifting and safety division with a huge number of benefits for our customers. In effect, it’s very much business as usual and customers will not notice any direct impact or change as they will continue to deal with their usual contacts with the added benefit from a strengthened team with a vast amount of expertise and knowledge."

"Our combined fleet of equipment is bigger, better, younger and ready for all your lifting requirements. We also sell lifting equipment from recognised suppliers, repair and test equipment either on site or within anyone of our locations with the additional benefit of online access to view certification. The supply, installation and testing of overhead cranes is also readily available at FLG Services."
