Linesman shocked

A man working on power lines from a bucket truck was severely injured on Tuesday after coming into contact with an overhead power line in Wakulla Springs, Florida.

According to the local sherriff’s office, the man, Tad Shappard, was working for Comcast Cable which was contracted by Southeast Utilities to remove tree limbs and repair power lines damaged in the recent Hurricane, when he touched, or came too close to a high voltage line. His work colleague managed to drive the lift away from the power lines and lower the platform from below, and start CPR, while he waited for the emergency services to arrive.

He was quickly airlifted to a hospital in nearby Tallahassee and was said to be in a critical condition. We will update when we learn more.
