Sparrows and Spie form alliance

Offshore lifting specialist Sparrows group and SPIE Oil & Gas Services have signed a global collaboration agreement to support the energy sector.

The deal will see the two companies work together, to initially across Africa before taking the joint offering worldwide.

SPIE Oil & Gas Services is a leading technical services provider to the oil and gas industry; and is the general maintenance contractor for a number of offshore installations around the world. Sparrows is the market leading services provider for offshore cranes, lifting, mechanical handling, fluid power, and cable/pipe lay equipment. The partnership is intended to allow each of the two partners to provide wider more comprehensive service.

Sparrows chief executive Stewart Mitchell said: “The synergy between our companies, which are both committed to excellence, will allow us to deliver an unrivalled technical competence in Africa.
