Terex snaps up subcontractor in N.Ireland

Terex has acquired JMF, one of its sub-contractors in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, which supplies metal fabrications and powder coating services.

Terex has not issued a formal release, but we understand that the transaction occurred at the end of last month and that the JMF business has been renamed Terex Ballymoney. The plant was set up 25 years ago by the Murray family and currently employs 170. It supplies Terex plants in Dungannon, Northern Ireland, which includes the Powerscreen crushing and screening business along with washing systems, and environmental. It had been rumoured to have been struggling to survive with revenues and profits declining in recent years to around £12 million.

This is the third small acquisition Terex has made for its Materials business having recently acquired Neuson Ecotec Environmental assets this month and Continental Biomass Industries in April. See Terex adds to environmental division
