Gerken fleet expands

German access rental company Gerken has taken delivery of the first of two 180ft Genie SX-180 boom lifts as well as the last Ruthmann truck mounted lifts from its €4 million order.

Launched at Bauma last year, the SX-180 offers a working height of 57 metres, an outreach of 24.4 metres with a maximum platform capacity of 340kg. The machine’s first job was on a cement silo in Paderborn.

Company owner Christian Gerken, said: “The main reason to purchase the SX-180 was clear to us – the working height. It is able to carry out jobs that would otherwise need a truck mounted platform. The ease of transport is of course an advantage, but was not decisive. Overall, it offers innovative performance and stunning design details that allow our customers a diverse range of applications.”
