Top 100 for profit growth

JCB and two rental companies were listed in yesterday’s Sunday Times Profit Track 100 listing of the fastest growing privately owned companies in the UK.

JCB was second in this year’s list, pipped at the post by the Hut Group, a retailer, it reported a three year average profit growth per annum of 169 percent – with its latest profits being £288.4 million, on sales of £2.7 billion.

The GAP group, the Glasgow based general rental company which includes access and lifting gear in its range, was 44th with 59.29 percent average growth – and latest profits of £10.7 million on revenues of 97.6 million.

And finally the telehandler rental company Fork Rent was 77th with an average of 48.61 percent, and profits of £6.8 million on revenues of £17.35 million.

All a good indicator that profitability is returning to the sectors we cover.
