SA French opens its doors

Potain’s dealer in South Africa SA French recently held an open day at its Johannesburg facility.

The company, established in 1982, was subject to an investor buy-in at the end of 2012, effectively becoming Torre Industrial Holdings. Since then the company has made further acquisitions including Congo based Kanu Equipment, the Liebherr earth moving dealer, earlier this month.

The open day attracted around 80 people to see a four tonne capacity Potain Igo 50 self-erecting tower crane, alongside a selection of top-slewing cranes from the company’s rental fleet and a Grove GMK4100L All-Terrain. The company also represents Saltec hoist and mast climbers and Merlo telehandlers.

SA French chief executive Charles Pettit said: “We have restructured to meet the changing demands of the market and to capitalise on ways we can grow – and our Potain cranes are at the core of that initiative. We have won a number of African infrastructure projects recently and our Potain cranes will be deployed at these job sites in the coming weeks. We are excited for the future and are confident that our equipment will help us expand even more.”
