Two hurt in crane incident

Two men were seriously injured last week in the town of Bissen, Luxembourg when a mobile crane boom buckled.

We have received very little information, apart from a couple of photographs and the information that it occurred last Monday. We have managed to confirm that an incident did occur at that time, and that it was near the town hall of Bissen, which is located north of Luxembourg City.

It looks as though the boom was fully extended and was subject to a heavy side-load, causing it to buckle

Looking at the photographs it would seem that it was erecting a tower crane at the time and that the fully extended telescopic boom was subjected to an excessive side-load, causing it to buckle.
