“We wanted the AC40-1 for a number of reasons, but mainly because of its compact size which makes it an extremely versatile piece of kit that can be used in a wide variety of different applications,” said managing director Bill Frost. “Like its predecessor, its size and manoeuvrability ensure it will be a highly utilised replacement.”

The 40 tonne AC40-1 City has a 31.2 metre main boom and 13.0 metre extension and supplied complete with searcher hook. He said the AC80-2 was “chosen for its fully powered telescopic boom system which is extremely adaptable on site, especially when you need to be particularly precise placing the load on the hook”. The 80 tonne capacity crane has a 50 metre main boom and can carry 18 tonne counterweight within STGO Regulations.
