15m CMC spider for MBS

UK spider lift rental specialist, MBS Access, has added a new 15 metre CMC S15 spider lift to its fleet.

The Essex based rental company took delivery of the new platform last week from CMC’s UK distributor The Spiderlift Company. The new machine replaces an existing 15 metre spider lift, in line with MBS’ policy of upgrading its fleet to maintain an average age below five years. The company also runs four Teupen spider lifts ranging from 18 to 30 metres.

The CMC S15 is just 3.2 metres long with the basket removed and 780mm wide with tracks retracted or 980mm when extended, while clearing two metres overall height with 50mm to spare. Maximum outreach is seven metres and platform capacity 200kg – transport weight is 1,800kg. MBS Access is targeting customers in shopping centres, retail, facilities management and building maintenance with the new model.

Alex Hadfield of The Spiderlift Company (L) hands over the new CMC S15 to Ben Dobson of MBS Access

Rental manager, Ben Dobson said: “MBS Access is known for offering the latest innovation in spider lift design, and the S15 is no exception. The 3.2 metre length is a significant improvement on rival machines, giving extra flexibility in tight spaces and for moving the machine up steps and in lifts. This feature alone will make a big difference to user convenience and productivity. In the past, spider lifts have been perceived as complicated, but the engineering is moving on and the S15 takes user simplicity to a new level.”

Founded in 2006, MBS Access is a division of MBS Grounds Maintenance which includes building maintenance and tree surgery services. The family run business will celebrate 25 years in 2014.
