Crane driver dies in his cab

A tower crane operator passed away while at the controls of his tower crane yesterday in London’s East End in the UK.

We have few details apart from the crane is working on a site in Vernon Road and that the site crew reported that he was seriously unwell in his cab – almost 40 metres above the ground, and called the emergency services.

When they arrived it was too late, he had already passed away.

The man was later named as John Richards, 51.
