First aerial lifts on Renault Maxity

Multitel has supplied the first aerial work platforms mounted on Renault Maxity chassis cabs in the UK.

Three Multitel MT222 straight telescopic boomed platforms have been sold to Loxam Access UK for delivery to the company’s Birmingham, West London and Barking depots.

Melvyn Else of Multitel distributor Access Industries, said: “We first started discussing the mounting of platforms on the Renault Maxity at SED in May 2007, quite why it has taken so long to reach fruition is a bit of a mystery.”

The Maxity is a badged version of the Nissan Cabstar although as Renault Trucks point out it has the back up of the Renault Truck dealer network for replacement parts and service.

The Multitel MT222 is the largest Multitel platform that can be mounted on a 3.5 tonne chassis and offers a 22.2 metre working height with up to 12 metres of outreach, through 360 degrees of slew.

Multitel and Access Industries will be mounting further models from the Multitel range on the Renault Maxity for delivery during the first half of 2009.
