Manitowoc warns on 18000

Manitowoc Cranes has issued a mandatory bulletin that effects 32 unit of its Model 18000 crawler cranes.

The company says that the chord mounting pads on the head section of the #79A tops and luffing jibs may be prone to delamination or missing internal welds in the plate work of the head section which could cause cracks to develop.

Manitowoc has said all 32 units fitted with the #79A tops should be taken out of work until an inspection has been carried out and any rectification work required carried out.

If you are working with a Model 18000 you should contact your Manitowoc dealer or representative and obtain a copy of the bulletin.
