Technical director for Spierings

Dutch mobile self-erecting tower crane manufacturer Spierings has appointed Marc Meijs as technical director. He joins the company after two and a half years with electric off road vehicle battery manufacturer Eleo, a division of Yanmar, where he was head of research and development.

Marc Meijs


Meijs is a mechanical engineer by education, and began his career in 2008 as a production and technical maintenance worker with packaging company Naber Plastics, followed by short educational internships with Fokker Landing Gear, MAN Trucks and the Dutch Ministry of Defence. In 2014, he joined Prodrive Technologies as a mechanical engineer, leaving after four years for software development company, Aptiv, as a systems engineer and ultimately customer chief engineer. In 2020, he began working with AI and autonomous driving and robotics company Helm.ai, before making the move to Eleo in 2022.

Speaking of his role at Spierings Meijs said: “I aim to get the maximum performance out of our cranes through smart innovations, with quality and sustainability as the highest priority.”
