UK lifting equipment manufacturer Multisec has designed and manufactured a bespoke C-Hook for the offshore wind sector in partnership with Durham Lifting for steel offshore turbine foundation manufacturer SeAH Wind.
The C-Hook - designed for handling monopile cans and cones in offshore wind applications - has a 125 tonne lifting capacity and can handle monopile sections up to 4.2 metres in length and 15.5 metres wide. It incorporates a dual gantry crane system with integrated motorised counterweights that can travel to either side of the lifting point, enabling controlled rotation in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions which contrasts with traditional C-Hooks which are limited to single direction tilt adjustment.
Multisec is based in Middlesbrough and designs and manufactures modular and bespoke lifting systems for onshore and offshore applications.
