Spierings eLift for Sparrow

UK rental company Sparrow Crane Hire has taken delivery of a new six axle Spierings SK1265 AT6 eLift self-erecting mobile tower crane.

The SK1265-AT6 eLift has a 10 tonne maximum capacity which it can handle at a radius of more than 13 metres. Its 60 metre jib has a 1,700kg jib tip capacity at a 35 metre horizontal jib height. Maximum lift height is 64.2 metres with jib luffed to 30 degrees.
The new crane arrives

The eLift system allows the crane to plug into a mains power outlet from a low as 11A to 25A or 32A which can be pre-set, with the power passing through a Lithium-ion battery ‘PowerPack’ which absorbs the peaks in energy draw-down allowing a connection to regular outlets without sacrificing performance. When the power draw is low the battery pack is recharged. The crane is also equipped with a small diesel engine which can generate the electrical power when a mains outlet is not available.

The new machine will be based at the company’s location in Keynsham, Bristol and is the company’s second Spierings crane.

Lee Sadler of Sparrow Crane said: “The decision to purchase the SK1265 was based on the success and popularity of the SK599 in our fleet and our customers feedback for the requirement of a larger and more eco-friendly machine. Our key staff will receive factory training next week.”

Sparrow Crane Hire was established in 1996 by Gordon and Timothy Sparrow, and according to the latest C&A Top 30 crane rental company report runs a fleet of more than 100 cranes, roughly half being mobiles, half tower cranes - mostly self-erectors - and a few mini crawler cranes.
