Bridge bash crane replaced

Liebherr has supplied a replacement mobile harbour crane to Port Esbjerg, after the first one, an LHM 600, was destroyed in a shipping incident on the Kiel Canal, Germany at the end of November https://vertikal.net/en/news/story/40839/mobile-harbour-crane-vs-bridges

The replacement crane, an LHM 800, has a maximum capacity of 308 tonnes, at radius of up to 64 metres. It becomes the second LHM 800 in Esbjerg’s fleet, allowing tandem lifts up to 616 tonnes. A new LHM 600 will be delivered as soon as production availability allows.

Roman Chopyk, area manager for Liebherr mobile harbour cranes said: “One of priorities after the incident was to deliver a new machine as quickly as possible.”

The Port of Esbjerg works in the wind energy industry with components for 80% percent of the offshore wind capacity installed in Europe shipped from Esbjerg.
