Mark Alan Hollister 1951-2022

We have received the sad news that US crane industry veteran Mark Hollister has died.

He passed away on February 8th at home with his wife Theresa by his side, following a short battle with cancer, he was 70.

Mark Hollister


Born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa he studied and graduated with a marketing degree before joining FMC in Chicago. By that time FMC had acquired Link-Belt and rebranded it FMC Link-Belt. In 1986 he moved to Tampa as the owner of Marco Machinery Company.
He later moved to a management role at Ringhaver Equipment, later Ring Power. He then moved to equipment dealer Nortrax, where he was vice president and general manager for the Southeast. Then in 2013 he joined Sims Crane & Equipment as vice president of business development. See: New business development VP for Sims.

Throughout his career he was known for his professionalism and caring for the people with whom he worked, many of whom he acted as a mentor. He was also known for his sense of humour. He is said to have enjoyed keeping his garden/yard in tip top condition, and a good glass of wine or two.

He leaves behind his wife Theresa, and children Morgan, MacKenzi and Terry, two stepdaughters Brittani and Baileigh and five grandchildren.

A memorial service commemorating Mark’s life will be held on Friday March 11th at Loyless Funeral Home in Land O Lakes. Visitation is 13:30 - 14:00 with the service from 14:00 - 15:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Metropolitan Ministries, 2002 N. Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33602, in Mark’s name.
