New division for Linamar

Linamar, the owner of Skyjack, has converted its hydraulic components production business into a new Fluid products division, which will be part of Linamar's Industrial Group.

Skyjack is currently the main customer for Linamar’s cylinders and manifolds. The aim now is to strengthen sales to external customers in the agricultural, drilling/mining, material handling, construction and industrial equipment markets.

The company also named Ken McDougall as group president of Linamar's Industrial Group, which is largely Skyjack. McDougal is currently vice president of operations for Skyjack.

Lloyd Spalding, previously group president-industrial, will continue as president of Skyjack.

"The expansion of our Industrial Group to include the Fluid Products Division marks a natural progression for our business," said Jim Jarrell, president and COO of Linamar. "It allows us to utilise our lean techniques, existing expertise and current infrastructure to continue to strengthen, diversify and grow our company."
