Big Genies for HBV

German aerial lift, crane and telehandler rental company HBV Hydraulikbühnen Verleih has taken delivery of three large Genie XC telescopic boom lifts.

The company, which is based in Spelle, halfway between Dortmund and Bremen in North West Germany has purchased an 85ft S-85 XC, a 105ft S -105 XC and a 135ft SX-135 XC boom lifts. The units were ordered through Genie’s dealer in the Dortmund region BSI.
The XC lifts offer a 300kg unrestricted platform capacity and can handle 454kg throughout a slightly smaller working envelope. HBV offers a wide range of platforms, including truck mounts, scissor lifts, trailer lifts and booms, its customer base includes a high proportion of film and television production companies.

The three new Genie boom lifts

HBV managing director Frank Sommer said: “We have been involved in a number of productions, particularly on locations in the Emsland, Münsterland and Ruhr area. The activity involves people working at height with heavy equipment — like cameras and lighting, the lift capacity of 300kg is a key factor. In a sector where productivity and speed are paramount, at the same time as a maximum lift capacity of 454kg is great to have, 300 kg throughout the entire working area is optimal for the film industry. In addition to working faster, camera and lighting crews are also convinced that the sensitive control, precision and compact dimensions of Genie XC boom lifts make their job a lot easier. Now that they have tried our new Genie XC models, they ask for them repeatedly and hardly want to work with another model. The expression 'Once XC, always XC' is something that we are hearing more and more often. We are now looking at Genie’s S-45 XC and new generation S-65 TraX boom lifts, having seem them at Bauma.”
