Roger Wickens Funeral

The family of Roger Wickens has confirmed his funeral arrangements, it will take place on Monday 10th June at 13.00 at South Leicestershire Crematorium, Foston Road, Countesthorpe, Leicester, LE8 5QP.

Before he died Roger requested that dress be casual, ie, open neck shirt or polo shirt, the way he always liked to dress.. and not necessarily black. As per his wishes after the service everyone is welcome to join Anne and the family to raise a glass or two to him at a private function at The Olde Royal Oak, Valley Lane, Bitteswell, Lutterworth, LE17 4SA.

The family have requested only family flowers for the Funeral but have set up a JustGiving site where friends and colleagues can make donations to Cancer Research UK in his memory. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/rogerwickens

UPDATE - from Anne Wickens

The Late Roger Wickens

Following the loss of my beloved Roger on 17th May, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone: family, friends and work colleagues (both present and past) – for all your support and care, the numerous cards and letters, your messages, the wonderful tributes to Roger on both Linked-In and Vertikal – including Vertikal’s own touching comments, the flowers, and the plants and roses which will be lasting reminders of a truly wonderful man.

Thanks to everyone who attended Roger’s funeral on 10th June, it was good to see so many of you there to say a final goodbye to him. Roger was a very special person to so many people in so many ways.

Last, but not least, a huge thank you for the donations to Cancer Research UK in Roger’s memory. Donations given at his funeral and those via his JustGiving page currently total £1,602.41. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Anne Wickens
