SMIE and Smart Jobsite merge

French tower crane anti-collision specialist SMIE is to merge with French connected lifting device, racking and planning products developer Smart Jobsite – are to merge at the corporate level. Both businesses are based in the greater Paris region.

The two companies will continue to operate independently but will have a common ownership. SMIE was founded in 1975 by chairman and owner Jean-Louis Olivier. Smart Jobsite was established in 2017 by SMIE chief executive Jean-Charles Delplace and Kévin Legendre. Delplace will manage both operations as chief executive, while Olivier will chair the two. No details of the equity division have been released.

Delplace said: “There is a natural similarity between the two companies. It makes complete sense for our organisations to work together, supporting each other as we aim to achieve a common goal which is to create safer, more efficient, more productive construction and building sites through the design and implementation of digital solutions.”
