New Snorkel products for Bauma

Snorkel will unveil two innovative new prototype models at Bauma this week an ultra low 19ft scissor and electric speed level

The 19ft S3019E slab scissor lift features a patent pending design that enables the scissor stack to stow entirely inside the chassis, providing a low stowed platform/step in height and overall stowed machine height, of just 1.76 metres. The lift has electric drive and steer, eliminating hydraulic hoses, while extending battery life between recharging. Overall width is just 770mm, platform capacity 250kg with a 910mm roll-out deck extension, while overall weight is 1,581kg - rated for one person plus tools for outdoor use.

The company is also launching a battery electric version of the Speed Level SL26 RT at Bauma with lithium ion battery pack. The new model the Speed Level SL26E is said to have sufficient battery power to last all day with the same gradeability and speeds as the diesel model. A 2.5kWh single phase battery charger, is capable of recharging the battery packs to 80 percent capacity within 20 minutes, or 6.5 hours to full charge with the onboard charger.

The idea of an electric speed level has long been mooted and will have considerable attraction for a number of applications that involve working on indoor slopes. With the battery life of the lithium ion battery packs it is also likely to appeal for certain outdoor work.
