Hidrokon - the Turkish manufacturer of truck mounted crane and aerial work platforms - has established a UK-based operation - Hidrokon (UK). Based in Manchester it will deal with sales, support and marketing in the UK and Ireland working with Hidrokon Europe based in Denmark.
Hidrokon (UK) sales and operations manager Barry Chester said: “As equipment enters the UK market and becomes operational we will increase stock holdings of spare parts accordingly, but in the short term we hold significant stocks in Denmark which can be delivered overnight to anywhere in the UK or Ireland.”
“Our plan is to appoint suitably qualified partners for the supply of service support throughout the region. There is potential for companies to become involved in the sales of a particular product range such as access platforms. We have a trained service staff in Denmark which will be available to support the UK in the short term but we plan to employ our own service technicians and train staff from service providers as we progress. Initially Hidrokon will manufacture the larger units in Turkey although the plan is to provide installation in the UK and Ireland once we have identified and trained selected partners.”
All products from Hidrokon will be available including articulated loader cranes from 89 to 312 tonne metres, truck cranes from 10 to 60 tonnes and truck mounted platforms from 18 to 45 metres. A new range of loader cranes is in final development and may be launched at Bauma.
Sales and operations manager Chester has more than 27 years experience mainly focusing on sales and marketing but also building and maintaining sales distribution and service partner networks in the commercial vehicle market working with brands including Hyva and Gardner Denver. His crane experience includes Hyva but he has also sold products from HMF, Ferrari, Kennis and Effer and was heavily involved with the launch of the Hyva Crane range into the UK and South Africa.
