Hidrokon sets up UK operation

Hidrokon - the Turkish manufacturer of truck mounted crane and aerial work platforms - has established a UK-based operation - Hidrokon (UK). Based in Manchester it will deal with sales, support and marketing in the UK and Ireland working with Hidrokon Europe based in Denmark.

Hidrokon (UK) sales and operations manager Barry Chester said: “As equipment enters the UK market and becomes operational we will increase stock holdings of spare parts accordingly, but in the short term we hold significant stocks in Denmark which can be delivered overnight to anywhere in the UK or Ireland.”

“Our plan is to appoint suitably qualified partners for the supply of service support throughout the region. There is potential for companies to become involved in the sales of a particular product range such as access platforms. We have a trained service staff in Denmark which will be available to support the UK in the short term but we plan to employ our own service technicians and train staff from service providers as we progress. Initially Hidrokon will manufacture the larger units in Turkey although the plan is to provide installation in the UK and Ireland once we have identified and trained selected partners.”
