New Demag for CWI Crane & Rigging

US based CWI Crane & Rigging has taken delivery of a 250 tonne Demag AC 250-5 All Terrain crane.

The five axle crane features a 70 metre main boom and comes with a 21 metre bi-fold swingaway extension. It also features the latest IC-1 Plus control system, which provides an optimum capacity for the actual outrigger configuration and slew point selected. The crane - now the company’s largest - was delivered by Terex/Demag dealer Empire Crane, and went straight out on its first job, installing battery modules for solar energy storage.

CWI’s new Demag AC 250-5

Owner Chet Chludenski said: “The roadability of the carrier for Massachusetts being under 59 tonnes with no counterweight is a huge plus for us, because we won’t need to get new permits every time we move to a different job. We have had a strong relationship with Empire Crane over the past 25 years. I purchased this unit from them because of the sales department’s flexibility to make this deal happen, and the knowledgeable and local service department.”

Empire general manager Justin Melvin added: “You see more and more solar energy fields popping up all over Massachusetts. The AC 250-5 is sure to be very busy and our team will be there to support it every step of the way.”

Established in 1969, family owned CWI Crane & Rigging is based in Uxbridge, central Massachusetts. Its crane fleet ranges from 27 to 250 tonnes capacity.
