Demag City for Canisius

German crane rental company Canisius has taken delivery of a 45 tonne Demag AC 45 City All Terrain crane.

The AC 45 has a 31.2 metre main boom and can telescope loads of up to 19.7 tonnes. A 7.1 to 13 metre offsettable extension takes the maximum on board tip height to over 45 metres. Canisius will use the new crane primarily for internal work to assemble indoor cranes or to move machines, as well as on outdoor construction sites.

Managing director Christian Canisius said: “We were already using the predecessor AC 40 City, which worked extremely reliable for around 17 years and therefore more than paid for itself as a very good investment.”

Canisius’ father Clemens Canisius added: “In our opinion, the AC 45 City is the most compact three axle vehicle on the market for indoor use. Thanks to the IC-1 Plus control system ordered with the machine, it is the ideal tool for maximum lifting capacities even in very confined spaces, thanks to its infinitely variable outrigger positioning. That was a very important selling point for us. But also smooth and precise telescoping under load with the hydraulic boom is a feature that makes the AC 45 City our first choice.”
