Scottish crane rental company Weldex has taken delivery of a 1,000 tonne Liebherr LR 11000 crawler crane, and ordered six 60 tonne LTR 1060 telescopic crawler cranes.
The LR 11000 features a 108 metre main boom, 114 metre luffing jib, derrick system and ballast trailer. The LTR 1060 features 40 metres of main boom, plus a 9.5 to 16 metre bi-fold swingaway extension, taking the maximum tip height to almost 59 metres.
Owner Dougie McGilvray said: “It is important for us to keep our product range right up to date. We have a long term partnership with Liebherr. Not only are the products outstanding, they are matched by the aftersales service. For that reason, we will continue to buy cranes from Liebherr.”
Established in 1979, Weldex is based in Inverness, north east Scotland, with a depot in Alfreton, Derbyshire, England. It runs a fleet of crawler cranes ranging from five to 1,350 tonnes.
