Swiss rental company Feldmann Pneukran und Transport has added five new Liebherr cranes to its fleet as part of its ongoing update and replacement strategy.

The new cranes include a 50 tonne LTC 1050-3.1 city type All Terrain crane, a 100 tonne, five axle LTM 1100-5.2, a 250 tonne five axle LTM 1250-5.1, a 450 tonne eight axle LTM 1450-8.1 and an MK 88 mobile self erecting tower crane. All models include the latest technology, including VarioBase outrigger set up and the VarioBallast variable counterweight system on the 250 and 450 tonners.

Feldmann's five new Liebherr cranes

Crane manager Heinrich Kistler said: “Most of our cranes are supplied by Liebherr, ease of use is very important to us, but we have also been won over by the Liebherr’s new technologies such as VarioBase and VarioBallast. This means that the cranes can be used for jobs which were previously only possible with larger machines. Moreover, we are very satisfied with the quality of Liebherr products and services.”

“The new machines fit perfectly into our range. The LTC 1050-3.1 is a very compact crane with a low clearance height. It has good telescoping lifting capacities and the elevating cab is extremely helpful for a wide range of jobs. We love the compact dimensions of the LTM 1100-5.2 and the outstanding lifting capacity of the LTM 1250-5.1, which partly extends into the range of a 300 tonne machine. The LTM 1450-8.1 with its long telescopic boom can be set up quickly on site and is very manoeuvrable for an eight axle crane. The MK 88 is a user friendly mobile tower crane with very good lifting capacities.”
