Germany’s first Genie SX-105 XC

German rental company Mayer Hubarbeitsbühnen has taken delivery of a 105ft Genie SX-105 XC boom lift, the first in Germany.

The SX-105 XC offers up to 24.38 metres of outreach with an unrestricted capacity of 300kg. Its maximum platform capacity is 454kg with an outreach of around 21.5 metres, and it also provides a below ground reach of 2.69 metres. The SX-105 XC is now the largest model in the rental company’s fleet, and was immediately sent out to help with the construction of a warehouse.

Operations manager Erwin Mayer said: “We initially rented out the Genie SX-105 XC boom for two weeks, but our customer was so delighted that he extended the rental period to one and a half months!”

“When it comes to productivity every kilo counts. However, this is not all. As in many cases, this job demanded a machine combining sufficient working height with extra long outreach to extend the boom across the offices in front of the warehouse. With its 135 degrees of vertical jib rotation, this machine still offers about 23 metres of horizontal reach at 15 metres working height and more than 21 metres at about 21 metres working height, which is very good and made it easy for the operators to perform their task. The advantage of this long outreach notably allowed operators to proceed without constantly having to move the machine around the busy worksite which saved a great deal of time.”
