Following Smith’s departure, Phil Wainwright became interim managing director. When Hotchkiss takes on his new role, Wainwright will move to an executive role at parent company Loxam.
Hotchkiss is currently managing director of Garic, a UK supplier in the rental and sales of welfare and accommodation products and services, where he has been for three years. Prior to that he spent eight years with Finning UK as divisional general manager for power systems. He began his career in 1992 as graduate trainee at Scottish Amicable, before being promoted to network analyst. Two years later he joined Inchcape in Dubai as manager for business systems and processes. In 1999 he became consulting manager at Kurt Salmon Associates, moving to Hewden Stuart five years later, where he was head of business process and systems alter taking on the role at Finning UK.
Hotchkiss said: “I am very much looking forward to joining Nationwide Platforms and contributing to the ongoing success of the team. To succeed in the UK rental market suppliers must provide amazing levels of customer service, the highest quality products, and innovative solutions to support the infrastructure and construction industries and must do so while operating to the highest possible safety standards. Following a terrific few years helping Garic achieve exactly that, it is a natural next step for me to join the Loxam Group and blend my experience with that of my new colleagues to deliver the best possible customer experience and execute our growth strategy.”
Loxam Access chief executive Don Kenny added: “The journey for Nationwide Platforms has been an interesting one over the last two years following the acquisition by Loxam and the future is equally exciting given the recent announcement regarding the acquisition of UK Platforms. Selecting the right candidate to take the organisation forward was a key appointment and I am delighted that Colin has agreed to join us. I believe he possesses the right commercial, operational and business skills to lead Nationwide Platforms in its continued journey of being the premier provider of powered access rental in the UK and delivering on our customer’s expectations.”
