Truck crane drops boat

A truck crane overturned while lifting a large boat into the river in Ust-Kut, Irkutsk Oblast, south central Russia last week.

The overturned crane

The crane, a 50 tonne four axle model, was lifting the boat over the rear and clearly went well beyond the radius at which it could manage the weight. It is quite clear that the crane was way too light for the job. The operator managed to jump clear and was said to be unharmed. The whole affair was caught on video.
