Kiloutou acquires Butsch & Meier

French international rental group Kiloutou has acquired German powered access and telehandler rental company Butsch & Meier.

Butsch & Meier operates from 13 locations in South Western Germany, mostly in Baden-Württemberg, including Freiburg, Baden-Baden and Karlsruhe. The company runs a fleet of 470 aerial work platforms plus telehandlers and is a member of the System Lift, the network of independent rental companies. The move follows the acquisition last year of Hamburg based Starlift. Completion is expected in mid May.

Kiloutou group managing director Olivier Colleau said: "This acquisition is fully in line with our international expansion strategy with which we aim, in particular, to consolidate our positions in high potential markets. It enables us to strengthen our presence in the dynamic Southwestern Germany and underlines our ability to incorporate high quality regional players with strong local roots into our development plan. Our long term goal is the further expansion in the German market through organic growth, new locations and takeovers. I warmly welcome the 65 employees of Butsch & Meier in the Kiloutou Group."

Butsch & Meier founders and owners Dieter Butsch and Michaela Meier-Butsch added: "We are pleased about the acquisition of our group by Kiloutou. This will enable our two companies to embark on a new phase of expansion in Germany, pooling their strengths and teams for the benefit of our customers so that they benefit from the combined strength of our rental stations and machinery, and continue to provide them with an excellent level of service that enhances the good reputation of both of us. We personally believe in the development project of Kiloutou in the German market and are very pleased that all our employees can fully participate in it. "
