AMCS for Hinkley Point cranes

5. April 2018 | Comments (0)

French electronic systems manufacturer AMCS technologies is to provide the anti collision and management systems for the tower cranes working on the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant in Somerset, southern England.

The contract for the devices has been signed with construction companies Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O’Rourke, and includes the installation of the latest AMCS DCS 61-S anti collision and zoning systems on around 50 cranes that will be onsite. It also includes all of the additional safety devices, such as cameras and night lights etc…

DCS 61-S

The DCS 61-S calculates the distances between the cranes and their loads in three dimensions and merges this data with the actual real time movement speeds to maintain safe distances between each crane and automatically bring them to a stop in the event that they stray into a pre-determined proximities or no-go zones.
