New UK truck mounted platform rental company

A new UK truck mounted platform rental company, Mobile Platform Hire UK, has opened and is now fully operational.

The new company, established by managing director Adam Tucker, is based in St Albans and has a fleet of five machines with working heights from 20 to 46 metres, all rented out with experienced operators.

Mobile Platform Hire UK currently has a fleet of five machines with working heights from 20 to 46 metres.

Tucker, 30 and an ex-member of the British Army, started the company last year after several years working in the access industry, as an operator, hire desk clerk and salesman/manager of southern operations with Wilson Access, part of the AFI group.

He is already looking for larger premises in Milton Keynes, in the heart of an area where Tucker sees most potential for the business.
“This industry has enormous room for growth particularly in and around the fastest growing city in the UK,” he said.

The company’s latest purchase is a 46 metre Bronto XDT which offers up to 24.5 metres of outreach and 600kg platform capacity. Other machines include a 20 metre Palfinger, a 22 metre Ascendant and 30 metre and 34 metre Bronto Skylifts.

“Starting a new rental company in a sector I have only been involved with for a few years has at times been daunting. I have been pleasantly surprised how accepting and helpful other access rental companies have been,” he said. “We are primarily targeting but not limiting to work in a band across the UK from Norwich into Wales and between South London and Birmingham.”

The 20 metre Palfinger

“Work has really been building up over the past few months as people become aware of our services and equipment. The personal service that we can offer has been a huge bonus for our clients. This year we are aiming to move to a bigger location and purchase a new 35 metre Bronto or 37 metre Palfinger to replace one of the existing 30 or 34 metre machines.”

“It is early days, but I can see a gap in the market for a rental company such as ours, offering excellent service and equipment around the South and Midlands.”
