New director for EnerMech

Scottish mechanical engineering group EnerMech has appointed Chris Dixon as director of UK Mechanical Handling Services.

Dixon will focus on the group’s delivery of cranes, lifting, hydraulics and training services to the European energy sector. He joins EnerMech from Stork, where he was product line director for UK and Africa for two and a half years, joining the company from Sparrows Group where he was executive director.

Dixon began his career as a junior project engineer for CP Navebon in 1987, before moving to Hunting Oilfield Services as product support engineer two years later. From 1991 to 2010, he held various positions at Sparrows Offshore Services, mostly engineering roles, becoming vice president of operations and maintenance for Europe and West Africa in 2007. At this time he was also director of Aberdeen Hydraulics. In 2010 he was promoted to executive director Western Hemisphere.

Regional director for Europe Phil Bentley said: “Chris Dixon brings with him a wealth of experience in the mechanical handling services sector, both in the UK and overseas. Our newly created Mechanical Handling Services business line merges the management of our cranes and lifting, hydraulics and training services divisions, allowing us to offer a more integrated service to the wider energy market. Chris will work closely with global business line director, John Morrison, to deliver this integrated solution.”
