Kiloutou acquires Alvecon

French rental company Kiliotou has acquired northern Spanish rental company and scaffold specialist Alvecon from Tecnosumit as part of its plan to expand its coverage of the Spanish market.

Alvecon is based in the Pamplona area covering the Navarre and Basque country regions of Spain, with a fleet of more than 1,000 units, including aerial work platforms, telehandlers and façade scaffold. It operates from three locations - two in Pamplona and one in Vitoria and employs over 40 staff.

Kiloutou says that it will ‘leverage’ the experience and know how of Alvecon which will continue to operate with a strong degree of independence in order to pursue the development of the business and offer its customers an ever higher level of service quality.

Kiloutou chief executive Xavier du Boÿs said: "This acquisition enables Kiloutou to continue its international growth and expand its network in Spain in two very dynamic regions in the north of the country. This acquisition complements the three branch openings we performed this year in Barcelona and Madrid and illustrates our commitment to becoming one of the leaders on the Spanish market by bringing together high quality regional players around our development project, players who benefit from a strong local presence.”

Tecnosumit chairman Yoichi Takagi added: "We appreciate Alvecon’s commitment to its customers and partners whom we thank for their trust. We believe that the acquisition of by Kiloutou will enable the company to accelerate its development by joining forces with a European leader.”
