King announces ownership changes

The King group has announced that managing director Mark Carrington and finance director, Vinod Thakar have acquired the shares in King held by venture capital company, 3i and other directors, and now own 100 percent of the company between them.

Skyking sell and mount GSR and Wumag vehicle mounted lifts in the UK and Ireland

The two have also made a number of staff changes, including the already reported return of Jim Longstaff as sales manager key accounts for Skyking aerial lifts, while Kevin Bell, until recently with Kranlyft, takes responsibility as key accounts manager traffic management, for the Traiload division.

John Ingrey retires as technical director after 25 years but will continue to pursue a technical consultancy role with the company. He has been replaced by Graham Thorley who joins the company from Gardner Denver where he was engineering manager.

Andy Madeley has joined King from Faun UK as group service manager, Mathew Pell also joins from Faun as a field service engineer. Gary Perkins who previously worked for King in the aerial platform assembly area, has rejoined as a field service Engineer.

“It is vitally important in today's economic climate to have strong working relationships between customers and suppliers. King has had many successes in recent years but we recognise weaknesses in certain areas of our business and these changes are designed to bring much more focus to the lifetime support of our customers and their equipment” said Carrington.
