The company is a strong and growing contender in the fast paced industry of crane hiring. Our key focus is hiring and selling of crawler cranes to various industries. As part of our growth plans we aim  to break into the heavy lift sector; the strategy to achieve this is to concentrate on developing the experience of our management team on heavy lifting.   
Hawks Hire are looking for an operations director who can scale and evolve the business to ensure our growing success; to do this the company is looking for a candidate who can incorporate effective processes and systems , as well as managing the ongoing operations of the company. 
The Role: Operations Director (Crawler Cranes, Cranes Sales)
As an operations director you will be responsible for controlling the operations of hire of cranes and sales of cranes (crawler crane rentals, sales of cranes (domestic & international), and at a later date construction training (targeted at lifting and heavy lifting). 
The candidate will have complete responsibility for the operations cycle from start (site inspection) to end (ensuring safe removal of cranes from site).  This includes producing all method statements, risk assessments and lift plans. You will have to efficiently manage all site lifting technicians (Crawler Operators, Crane Supervisors & Signaller/Slingers) within the company to make sure they are fully utilised across various jobs sites nationwide.
We specialise within the sector based purely on the quality of our people; and as such have introduced rigorous testing processes to ensure that all full time and subcontract labour represent the company to the high standards that we set.To achieve higher growth through additional crane purchases, the operations director will be responsible for automating current processes to ensure the company complies with current legislation such as LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121 as well as other applicable legislation. The candidate will also have to ensure that the company's quality procedures in terms of labour quality control will have to scalable ona national basis. Key Responsibilities in the role

Look after all H&S processes within the company. Site Inspections, including production of Method Statements, Risk assessments and Lift Plans.  All lift drawings must be drawn in CAD or similar package (we use RHINO).Organizing all lifting technicians and subcontract labour to ensure contracts are covered by qualified labour. Organizing transport logistics of cranes and auxiliary with transport companies to move equipment around nationally.
Candidate Characteristics· 
Able to cope in stressful situations and show high levels of leadership in high pressured environments. Personable character who is able to communicate with all levels of management within a company. Comfortable handling high value crane equipment.  Works well within a team environment.
