Over 60 delegates representing more than 50 Dutch access companies – both manufacturers and rental companies - met yesterday in Meern to discuss the formation of an IPAF council for the Netherlands.

Most manufacturers attended, either directly, as in the case of Holland Lift, JLG, Haulotte and Alimak Hek or through their distributors, along with companies representing over 75 percent of the Netherlands national powered access rental fleet.

The meeting was hosted by Kemp Hoogwerkers at its facility south of Utrecht. IPAF managing director Tim Whiteman addressed the meeting in the form of an introduction. Hans Aarse then presented the case for the IPAF Netherlands council, providing additional member services along with a stronger local voice.

He was supported by a panel made up of Cees van der Kooij of Loxam, Andrew Pauw of Peinemann and Rik Maaskant of Riwal.

A robust exchange of ideas and opinions followed the presentations which ended with a general agreement to move ahead and draft some preliminary proposals for an IPAF Netherlands council.

There are currently over 30 IPAF members in Holland with the IPAF training programme growing at a rapid pace in terms of the numbers being trained each year. If the non-members attending the meeting were to join, the local membership would grow to more than 50 and give the group a very strong national voice.
