Port Services wins OHSAS certification

December 10, 2009 | Comments (0)

UK based crane and offshore lifting and logistics specialist Port Services has won OHSAS 18001:2007 accreditation, confirming that its Occupational Health and Safety Management System fully complies with the 18001:2007 (ISO 14001) standard.

The certification follows a comprehensive year-long independent assessment of all areas of the company’s business by the British Standards Institute that included transport, heavy lifting and offshore logistics support to the gas, oil and cargo industries.

Operations director Paul Clark, said: “The certification underlines Port Services’ commitment to best practice procedures at its three main operational bases in Aberdeen, Invergordon and Scrabster.”

“We are delighted to have achieved this much sought after standard. This new recognition is all part of our policy to continually improve the business so as to maintain our leading position as an offshore logistical services provider.”

Health, safety, environment & quality manager, Derek Johnstone, added:
“This is an ongoing process as it will take huge efforts to maintain this certification and further build upon Port Services health and safety performance in the future.”
