Terex closes Load King plant

Terex AWP has permanently closed the Load King trailer plant in Elk Point, South Dakota. The plant has 57 active employees with a further 16 on temporary layoff they were informed earlier this week and the majority given 60 days notice, a small group will be involved in the shut down process until February.

Melinda Zimmerman-Smith, marketing communications manager for Terex Aerial Work Platforms, said: "We did an evaluation of our product lines and decided to exit the trailer business as part of an overall strategic plan to focus on our core aerial business,’’ during an interview with the local newspaper.
